An Offer I Could Not Refuse - Part 4

Greetings folks! Welcome to the Wednesday Briefs. Here is another installment of my free story, An Offer I Could Not Refuse. Part 4 Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 * * * * Admittedly, I was still suspicious. I had a stranglehold on the town as did my father, but I couldn’t let my guard down. So, with all this information, how could I trust the child of a vampire slayer so easily? Believe it or not, it was more about lust and admiration instead of the aforementioned emotion. Aaron was a sight for sore eyes. So infinitely gorgeous. Lightly bronzed skin, a toned build, not overly muscular or lanky. The perfect size. When he wore suits or really, anything, I couldn’t keep my eyes off him. And his face? Chiseled. A narrow nose, kissable lips, very little facial hair and bright brown eyes that sparkled anytime our gazes met. That last portion was why I could overlook the fact he was a breather. I knew he wanted me as much as I wanted him. Despite the fact he caught me drinking blood out of a vial, Aaron didn’t tell a soul about my true existence. Those facts along with my feelings towards him won over my suspicions. I could trust this being, even if it meant enduring the disdain from my father. When I told him so, he said, “If only you could find someone of our kind to tickle your fancy. Careful. Your handsome crush might get you staked to death.” Although there was truth to his words, I couldn’t deny the attraction I’d felt towards Aaron. Id been waiting for the moment when he’d finally give in, and now that time had arrived. * * * * Aaron After stopping at Leneils as Raviele requested, I drove to his condo on Macadoor. The place was huge, sitting alongside three other large buildings were others who were considered high society lived. There were a few of us in those ranks, but only because they’d done the vampire’s bidding, or they were kept breathers. Some of them were regular blood suppliers to the vampires, and because of that, they were treated better than other humans. Once I’d left my car with the valet, I waltzed inside the building with the bottle of Rosette in hand. Even through the gloves, the cold beverage sent chills up and down my spine. Unfortunately, it made me even more nervous, but I’m sure Raviele would enjoy it. He himself was cold, so of course he’d want his presumed lover’s body temperature to be slightly cold as well. “Aaron Winston?” An older man with red eyes greeted me, tipping his cap. “Yes. I’m here to see Mr. Garland.” “Yes, of course. Mr. Garland is expecting you.” He bowed his head and waived me ahead towards a corridor, I assumed where the elevators would be. “Thank you.” I gulped hard, trying to will the uncomfortable feelings down. I tried hard to keep the bile from rising in my throat, but it was damn near impossible with my conscience getting the best of me. Turn back! Don’t meet with this vampire! I stopped abruptly, then spun on my heel. “Um, perhaps …” “Mr. Winston. There is no turning back. Now, please, do not make me drag you up by force. I will do so. I am a faithful servant of Raviele Garland. Whatever he wants, I will make sure he gets it!” At the end of his statement, the vampire opened his mouth revealing large fangs. He hissed and shoved me hard enough, making me move in the direction of the elevator. “Okay okay. Is a guy allowed to have second thoughts?” Once at the elevator’s doors, I rolled my shoulders too loosen up. “No, you are not.” The vampire snapped and pushed the up button. I eyed his hand closely, wondering what I could do to get away. The fangs didn’t deter me in the least, so he’d wasted his time showing them. However, I didn’t have anything to defend myself with. No matter what my second senses were trying to tell me, I would be Raviele’s guest tonight, whether I liked it or not. * * * * Hope you enjoyed that.
