On the Run Blogtour Michael Mandrake

I'm 2 days late with my own post. *shrugs* Sorry, Shar had a couple of issues so we are a tad tardy. Still, here is an exclusive excerpt! On the Run (PROTEKT) by Michael Mandrake - Romance>Action/Adventure Who would’ve thought that a British hitman would fall in lust at first sight with an American felon? It could become deadly for both. Aiden Moriarty is a Florida ‘herbalist’ who works with a performance-enhancing drug used by many athletes. One of them is baseball star Ivan Salerno, who was caught using the drug and is now on the brink of getting suspended. Because of Ivan’s connections with a rogue mob boss, Aiden is taken into a witness-protection program, working along with baseball higher-ups until he testifies. The mob boss, Augustine Ora, has hired former British military officer and his best hitman Devlin ‘Brit’ Crawford to do the job. Ora has instructed Devlin to go to Miami, kidnap Aiden and take him to the local airport to be transported to Havana, Cuba, to be executed by Ora’s top officers. However, when Devlin receives the email, the pictures of the blue-eyed felon catch his eye and he is moved to go in a different direction. Instead of delivering Aiden to the airport, he has thoughts of taking him away and saving him from Ora’s wrath. This move puts himself and Aiden, as well as his assistant, Miranda Ashley, in huge danger. Will Devlin keep Aiden safe despite the odds, or will he fail, causing Ora and his men to come after him? Buylinks Pride Publishing Website Amazon All Romance Barnes And Noble Excerpt “Aiden? Did you grab that folder of papers as I told you to?” Miranda admonished him as he walked faster alongside her. “Yeah, I did, all right? I told you I would. And I’m glad it’s you explaining this PROTEKT shit to us and not Paul or Mick.” “Whatever, Aiden. They’re busy on a mission anyway. Recall when they were questioning you and Devlin about this situation? They were actually getting more information for their group.” “So Paul’s flirting was part of a ploy?” “Yes and no. C’mon now, Aiden. If it weren’t for Paul and Mick—along with their guy on the inside—Devlin might’ve been a goner.” “Yes I know, Miranda. I’m very grateful to all of them. Believe me.” Aiden didn’t want to get into any unnecessary arguments with Miranda today. He wanted to be in a good mood to see Devlin. “Good.” They arrived at Devlin’s room and softly knocked. “D? We’re here, luv. Are you decent?” “Yes, Miranda.” Aiden silently wished the answer was no. He had the worst case of blue balls right now with Devlin on the mend from his injuries. “Hey, babe.” He opened the door and waved Miranda in first. “Oh, you’re… Oh hi, Miss Bradderton.” Miranda’s happy tone turned tense quickly. She greeted the tall redhead in the room. Aiden thought she was gorgeous, like a fashion model instead of a crime-fighting agent. From the way she took over things after the trial, she was tough as nails. “Hello again, Miss Ashley. Good to see you again. And please, call me Kelly.” She crossed her arms over her chest and grinned at both of them. Devlin gasped, but didn’t say a word. Aiden noticed the tension rise in the room. “Um, hi again, Miss Bradder… Uh, Kelly.” He rushed to Devlin’s side. “‘Allo, lovely.” Devlin kissed his cheek and softly rubbed his back. “Um, Miranda…” “How the fook did you know my name,” she snarled at Kelly. “Well, I am a U.S. Marshal, Miranda. After we talked on the phone several weeks ago, I did some digging on you. No worries, though. Nothing real bad came up in your file, which could mean a couple of things. You’re either a totally good girl or real good at hiding things.” “Wha—?” Miranda seemed to be upset. “Whatever, Miss Kelly. Is there a reason why you’re here?” “Just seeing how our man is. No worries. Like I said, Devlin, that was brave, what you did, but really stupid. You were almost killed back there. If it wasn’t for your girl’s friends helping FBI and the police, you would’ve been dead.” “Yes, yes, I know, Kelly. I’m forever in debt to them and you. I’m grateful you safely got Aiden to the trial in time to testify and put Salerno and Engel—along with his whole gang—behind bars.” “Yeah. Shame that Pablo got away before he did, though. I would’ve loved to get that bastard, too. It’s cool, though. Everybody’s on the lookout for him. His father was the real criminal, but thanks to your girl here, he’s paid for his crimes with his own life.” “He deserved to die, Kelly, and you know it.” Aiden agreed, “Yeah, he did. For what he did to Devlin and plenty of others, his death didn’t seem like enough.” “Well, yeah, I know, and because he and his boys were shooting, we can’t really charge Miranda with murder,” Kelly offered. “Doesn’t matter. I would’ve shot him even if he wasn’t shooting at me. The tit had it coming.” Devlin cleared his throat. “Erm, yes, I suppose so, m’girl. I’m very grateful to you, as well, for coming to my rescue.” “As per usual, luv. It’s becoming kinda a habit.” Miranda laughed and sat at the edge of the bed. Today and tomorrow, the book is on sale at Amazon, All ROmance, and PRIDE for 2.50USD! Best time to grab a copy! Thanks for supporting my tour!
